At our Toronto-area medspa, we offer laser hair removal for women and men who are tired of the hassle and temporary results of shaving, waxing, or tweezing. Bertucci MedSpa offers permanent laser hair reduction using an advanced diode laser called LightSheer® DUET™. This state-of-the-art equipment is effective in the treatment of a variety of skin tones and can safely inhibit future hair growth by up to 95% with very little discomfort.

Call Bertucci MedSpa at (905) 850-4415 to find out more about what laser hair removal can do for you. Bertucci MedSpa is located in Woodbridge, Ontario and serves men and women from Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Aurora, Thornhill, Mississauga, Barrie and all of greater Toronto.

Is Laser Hair Removal Right for Me?

Laser hair removal is a good option for men and women who would like to significantly and permanently reduce the amount of unwanted hair in a specific area of the body. Popular areas for this procedure include:

  • Arms
  • Underarms
  • Legs
  • Face
  • Chest
  • Bikini line

Although the best candidates for laser hair removal are those with fair skin and dark hair, the LightSheer diode laser can be effective for darker skin tones. Men and women with grey, white, red, or blonde hair may not benefit from laser hair removal. This is because the pigment in hair absorbs the laser energy, damaging the follicle. Therefore, darker hair with more pigment tends to respond better to the procedure.

What Can I Expect?

Under the direction of board-certified dermatologist Dr. Vince Bertucci, we may suggest that you apply a local anesthetic cream 1 hour before your procedure in order to minimize any discomfort. As your practitioner passes the laser over your treatment area, you may experience a stinging sensation or a feeling of heat. The amount of skin sensitivity depends on the area being treated. Thanks to its dual technologies, treatment with our LightSheer DUET is faster and more comfortable than treatments with older lasers.

After a laser session, it's not uncommon to see small black dots in the hair follicle, which are actually residual hairs. These typically fall out within 1 to 3 weeks. You should be careful to limit your sun exposure for 4 to 6 weeks, using a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher each day.

Although individual results can and do vary, most people notice fewer, finer hairs after just one procedure. For enhanced results, Dr. Bertucci recommends approximately 4 to 8 sessions every 6 to 8 weeks, depending on your individual circumstances.
