Your BELKYRA appointment at Bertucci MedSpa lasts between 15 and 30 minutes. We begin your session by cleansing your skin to remove oil, dirt, makeup, and other impurities. We then administer a series of injections beneath your chin, each lasting for only a moment and feeling like a stinging sensation. Immediately after your appointment, you can return to your usual activities. BELKYRA is not expected to cause systemic side effects. Instead, they’re usually minor and limited to injection site reactions such as swelling, mild bruising, and temporary numbness. Bruising and swelling generally resolve over the course of a few days, while numbness tends to resolve within a few weeks.
To achieve ideal results, Dr. Bertucci typically recommends a series of appointments spaced about 6 to 8 weeks apart. During your consultation, you’ll get a better sense of how many appointments are likely to give you the results you want so you can plan accordingly. You may begin to notice your results developing weeks after your first treatment, with your ultimate results continuing to develop over the next few months.
