Laser energy passes through the skin’s surface without harming it and stimulates collagen production by heating the deeper layers. New collagen makes the skin firmer and thicker, smoothing out wrinkles and superficial scarring. The laser also heats up the pigment in red blood cells and causes the blood vessels to collapse. The body absorbs those collapsed blood vessels over time, reducing redness.
Many people choose to combine Laser Genesis with Excel V+ treatments to address both pigmentation and texture issues at the same time and achieve a brighter, smoother complexion. Laser Genesis treatments are gentle and do not involve any discomfort. Most people experience some calming warmth on their skin as their technician passes the device over the treatment area. Treatments typically take 30 minutes or less.
No downtime is needed after Laser Genesis so you are free to resume normal activities right away. Expect mild redness that will fade within a few hours.
The number of treatments needed varies from person to person. Most people see their best results after 4 to 6 treatments spaced about a month apart.
It takes time for new collagen to form after a Laser Genesis treatment. Typically, patients begin to notice an improvement within 3 to 4 weeks and reach the full result in about 3 to 4 months.
