Microneedling is a highly versatile, minimally invasive treatment that helps men and women from Toronto achieve healthy, younger-looking skin. At Bertucci MedSpa in Vaughan, our Eclipse MicroPen® device triggers the skin’s healing response. As the skin generates more collagen in response to treatment, scars, wrinkles, and sun damage give way to clear, radiant skin—without the need for lengthy downtime.
What Is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a rejuvenating cosmetic procedure that enhances the texture and appearance of your skin. Using sterile, ultrafine needles on the skin’s surface, we create controlled micro-injuries that stimulate the body’s natural healing processes.
Is Microneedling Right for Me?
Microneedling is an excellent nonsurgical option for individuals looking to revitalize their skin. The Eclipse MicroPen effectively treats multiple cosmetic concerns, including:
Fine lines and wrinkles
Scarring (including acne scars)
Uneven skin tone and texture
Photodamage and age spots
Whether you want to minimize the appearance of scars, reverse the signs of aging, or improve your skin’s overall vitality, microneedling offers numerous benefits. PRP therapy, also known as a “vampire facial,” offers additional rejuvenation using your own platelets and growth factors. When paired with microneedling, it can accelerate recovery, renew your skin, and amplify the results.
Patients seeking deeper tissue remodelling and skin rejuvenation may be candidates for our Secret™ Pro treatment, which combines radiofrequency (RF) microneedling with laser skin resurfacing for enhanced results. We will discuss your cosmetic goals in depth at your consultation before recommending a personalized and evidence-based treatment plan.
Get to KnowDr. Bertucci
As a globally renowned, board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Vince Bertucci has devoted his career to enriching the lives of people from all walks of life. Though he is a respected innovator, researcher, and educator, his patients are his highest priority. He welcomes each visitor with an a detailed consultation process and works collaboratively with them to develop a personalized, comprehensive treatment plan.
During your microneedling session, a trained skincare professional will apply the MicroPen to the treatment area, opening tiny channels in the skin. These micro-punctures encourage collagen and elastin production and promote cell turnover, leaving the skin more refreshed and resilient as it heals.
What Can I Expect?
Your microneedling experience begins with an initial consultation to discuss your skincare goals and determine whether Eclipse or another procedure will best help you achieve them.
The Treatment Experience
We apply a topical numbing cream to keep you as comfortable as possible during your procedure. Most patients describe a mild prickling or scratching sensation and find that they tolerate the treatment well. The session takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the treatment area, and does not usually require any downtime.
Your skin may be red and sensitive for the first few days after treatment. Most individuals can resume their daily activities almost immediately, although we encourage you to limit your sun exposure as much as possible.
Your skin quality will gradually improve over the following weeks as the new collagen and elastin add suppleness and elasticity to your skin. The condition of your skin and the desired level of enhancement will determine the number of sessions you need to achieve your aesthetic goals.
Your microneedling results are long-lasting, with many patients enjoying the rejuvenating effects for up to a year or more. To sustain these benefits, we recommend booking periodic maintenance sessions. Maintenance treatments help extend your results and keep your skin looking vibrant, smooth, and healthy.
