Ensure the provider is a board-certified physician specializing in cosmetic treatments or is under the supervision of one. Injectable treatments are popular thanks to their simplicity and convenience. One session typically lasts less than 30 minutes and usually requires no downtime. Dr. Bertucci injects small amounts of the filler substance into the area in a controlled manner using an ultrafine needle or a blunt-tipped cannula. The latter allows Dr. Bertucci to access a wider area with fewer injections, thus creating natural-looking results while minimizing discomfort and making bruising uncommon.
Some mild, short-lived redness and swelling may develop at the injection site immediately following treatment. In some cases, bruising may occur. However, this risk is minimized with the use of flexible blunt-tipped cannulas. Rarely, other side effects may occur. Most people find that their issues resolve within a few days to a week after treatment.
Results can typically be observed right after treatment with hyaluronic acid fillers (e.g., JUVÉDERM®) and calcium hydroxylapatite (RADIESSE®) and may continue to develop over time with poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra®). Results will vary based on the type of dermal filler used, individual skin conditions, and the amount injected. Generally, however, most people experience a more refreshed, relaxed, and youthful-looking appearance with fewer wrinkles and enhanced facial shape and volume following their treatment.
