As we age, facial wrinkles become a top concern for many individuals seeking to maintain a youthful, refreshed appearance. Fortunately, modern cosmetic dermatology offers a range of nonsurgical treatments, from injectables such as BOTOX Cosmetic® to lasers and energy-based devices, that can effectively address these concerns.
Bertucci MedSpa’s Signature Approach
Dr. Bertucci’s world-renowned 360-degree approach involves examining your face as a whole and then creating a customized treatment plan that may include many modalities. For example, BOTOX® might be used to relax forehead wrinkles, while soft tissue fillers address volume loss in the cheeks, and laser resurfacing for sun spots and overall skin quality. This full-face rejuvenation approach considers the entire face rather than focusing on isolated areas or concerns to create a more balanced, harmonious, natural-looking appearance.
The goal is to achieve natural-looking results that enhance your unique features rather than dramatically altering your appearance. This approach often involves a series of treatments over time to maintain and build upon your results.
Wrinkle-Reducing Treatments
Here’s a list of 5 popular and effective treatments that address wrinkles and other signs of aging.
Neuromodulators
BOTOX® and other neuromodulators such as NuceivaTM and Dysport® soften dynamic wrinkles, sometimes called expression lines. These wrinkles are caused by the movements our faces make when we make certain expressions—squinting, smiling, frowning, and looking surprised are common examples. Neuromodulators work by temporarily relaxing the muscles used to make these expressions. They are commonly used for horizontal forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet, and frown lines. They can also be used for areas in the mid and lower face, such as upper lip lines.
Dermal Fillers
We often combine dermal fillers with BOTOX® or other neuromodulators as part of our full facial rejuvenation approach because they address different concerns. Fillers add volume to areas such as the hollows under the eyes, marionette lines, cheeks, and nasolabial folds, which develop over time as the skin produces less collagen and we lose fat and bone mass.
Biostimulators
Biostimulators like Sculptra® and RADIESSE® are injectable treatments that stimulate the body’s natural collagen production to address facial volume loss, wrinkles, and other signs of aging. Unlike traditional hyaluronic acid fillers, these products work by triggering a biological response that gradually improves skin texture and structure over time. Sculptra®, made of poly-L-lactic acid, and RADIESSE®, composed of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres, both provide long-lasting results by enhancing the skin’s underlying support system. Periodic maintenance treatments help preserve the benefits over time.
Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser skin resurfacing treatments such as Fraxel® deliver pinpoint beams of laser energy that create micro-injuries while leaving surrounding tissue undamaged. This fractionated laser technology minimizes the longer downtime associated with some other laser treatments. As the controlled injuries heal, the skin produces new collagen and reduces wrinkles and fine lines. The procedure also improves skin texture.
Microneedling
We offer both traditional microneedling and RF microneedling, which delivers radiofrequency energy to the skin during the treatment process. During the procedure, tiny needles create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, triggering the body’s natural healing process and collagen production. The minimally invasive treatment involves little downtime. We can further enhance results by combining RF microneedling with fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing. We customize each patient’s treatment to address their specific goals and needs.
